Circle City Greens’ Statement on Gun Control (PDF)
We’d like to make it known that as a party of peace and nonviolence the Circle City Greens (CCG) support strengthening and furthering gun control legislation in order to ensure the safety of the people of central Indiana.
This support is simply for common sense gun control and is not supporting any specific legislation. We are making this statement so that the people of Indiana know where the CCG stand on gun control. When a piece of legislation relating to this topic is put forward we will then decide whether or not we will provide our support.
We believe this is an important step in making Indiana a safer place. We also support collecting pertinent statistics and data related to gun deaths in our cities and around the nation. This is so we are able to properly shape legislation based on what is found to be the greatest threat. This is something the Green Party is able to do because we, unlike democrats and republicans, take no money from the NRA or their affiliates.
We put your safety first above any type of campaign donor no matter how deep their pockets. It’s time to send a message to NRA recipients in the Indiana Congress: Your time is up!
